Using a huge breaker bar, new 17mm socket (as the ancient one I had was split, and getting someone to sit on the engine to stop it lifting finally did it!! Have done a bit more prep work on the boost pod too.

Managed to snap the bottom right bolt off on the bracket that holds the transfer box to the engine too, and the t-box oil drain plug is rounded off (not my fault.. was like that when I got there!!).. so that'll never come out.
